we (me and wife, I am primary) also applied for EAD, my EAD was approved Feb 28 ("we ordered you a new card after approving your case..."), but my wife's EAD status has not been changed.

should our EADs be approved at the same time?
is there gonna be an approval notice besides the card?
is FP required for EAD, or it is required for renewing EAD?

1. Not necessarily. My wife's EAD has always been approved a couple of weeks after mine. (we're on our third)
2. If I remember correctly, there is an approval notice sent as well.
3. FP are only done for an EAD if you file electronically.
