EAD question for NIW

Hi guys

I have a question regarding EAD. My I-140 based on NIW is approved. The EAD and AP is currently being processed. Since I want to leave my current employer asap. My lawyer said if I leave now, as long as I don't work till my EAD is approved, it won't be a problem. Is this ture?

yes

you would need the ead to work. as long as you have the receipt for 485, you are in status. so you can stay at home, go to the beach etc until the ead comes through. start working at your new employer only when you get the ead.
