EAD process at the moment...

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has applied for an EAD recently and if so, how long did it take? I am going to be applying for one in a few weeks time and I really don't want it to take any more than about 4-6 weeks. Is there anything you can do to speed it up? I already have a job waiting for me (I was an an L1 and am now on a L2 as I am married to an L1 holder).

I don't know of any way to speed up the process. It took my spouse 4 months to get it last year since she still had to get her fingerprints and picture taken at a local USCIS office. Maybe if they already have those, you will get it a bit earlier. You can check the online status system to see if there are any updates.
 
Yeah, I just heard of someone who has started the process and if you do it online and get the picture and fingerprint done asap, it is only supposed to take a few weeks. Guess I will find out.
