Hi,

I am going to the ASCS closet to my address tomorrow without an appointment. I heard they allow it. So i am going to give a try. Can any one tell me
1) what are the documents/things i have to carry for my personal apperance?
2) I am new to US, so can u tell me what is the procedure i have to follow there?
2) The office opens at 8.00AM. Will there be a huge queue/line? How long will take for all the procedures?

regards,

Jayag,
that was wierd that they scheduled an appointment without you having called the ASC. But it is good.

On the change of address:
We had similar situation. This is what we did:
1. File AR-11 to London, KY
2. Keep a signed copy before mailing.
3. Mail by certified mail with return receipt
4. Call the ASC and let them know of your change of address and inform them that you have filed your AR-11
5. Now write a letter with the following attachments to the Local Service Center that will process your EAD, to request them to update your file:
a. Copy of your AR-11
b. Copy of filing your on-line EAD with the SRC # (Confirmation#)
c. Copy of your L2 visa
6. You will receive a letter from the ASC indicating that you requested for a change of address. Keep this on file.

In what to take to the Processing Center:
1. Take the copy of Confirmation Receipt (with the SRC#)
2. Copies (at least 2, just in case) of your passport - First page, last page, page w/ visa (and any other relvant pages)
3. If you have Driver License, keep it handy and have a copy of it also.
4. Make copies of L1 - basis for your L2 and EAD application
5. Keep both L1 and L2 passports
6. If you have copies of documents filed with the consulate for your L1 and L2, take copies of that.

In our case, #1, 2 & 5 were sufficient. But be prepared.
Arrive early for the appointment. We didn't go to VSC. So don't ask me specific questions on the service center. Couldn't answer abt. queue and wait time.

Make sure you keep the stamped copy of the confirmation receipt after your appointment. This will be the key evidence for your interim EAD (that you could get after 90 days of filing for EAD).

Hope this helps.
