Hi all,
I'm on TN currently but because it is going to be expired in a month, the HR and my boss are worrying about it and they think we need to do something.
now my status is: I just got my EAD card by mail,
also my interview is on Tue. 3 days from now.
As I know the card will be invalid if I get approved for my GC.

so what should I do now? should I give the EAD card to the HR to change my work status? then if I get approved, i have to change it again to GC?
or wait after the interview?
After I explained this to them, they still are not sure If I'm doing this right, the concern is they think my TN is canceled now and I should change to EAD ASAP, is that right?

any advice?
Thank you all.

Your EAD will NOT be invalid... it is valid until the expiration date on it.

I will NOT be NECESSARY, if you are approved... because you should get your GC or I-551 stamp and that is enough to work too.

Just start working on EAD and do not worry about it, once you get your GC give it to HR and continue working.

sorry I didn't mean invalid but I read here that they will ask for the EAD card and take it.
what is (i will not be necessary) in your answer? what did you mean?

you only need to SHOW the card to your employer's HR the day you begin your JOB right? so that they fill out an I-9 on you...

That is it, you will not need it anymore after that (unless you change jobs), you can give it to the Officer at the interview and continue working... once you get your GC, then give a copy of it to your HR dept.

my TN expires Oct 27, if they take the EAD from me and they won't stamp the passport as I read before, and just ask me to wait for the GC card and the card comes after Oct 27 or get lost the first time or anything else, then what???
don't you think i need to have a document to work after Oct 27?
the other problem is I'm traveling from Oct 20 until Nov 2 which add more problems to the case... I want to be done with this and go for my honeymoon!!! :D
sorry sounds stupid but I just need not to make any mistake.

Just do this OK?

Go to your HR department and fill out the I-9 with your EAD. Make a copy of it and give it to them.

Continue working on your I-485 pending status. Go on your honey moon (IF YOU HAVE Advance Parole!!!!)

Go to your interview and if they ask for it, give them your EAD.

If approved, then do not worry you should get your GC in 2 weeks and when that happens go fill out a new I-9 with your employer with a copy of your GC.

If pending name check, then they WILL NOT ask for your EAD.

Under no circumstance, leave the USA without an Advance Parole.
