EAD or H1B

I just got my EAD and my H1B status will end in Jan 08. This is my 8th years of H1. I am wondering if I should apply for the H1B extension to keep my H status valid or just use the EAD for current job.

Are there any difference between working under EAD and H1B extension? BTW, my I140 is still pending.

if the i140 is not yet approved it is safe to be on H1...as there is no premium processing for i140 u need to wait I guess..
