Hey guys,
I have a serious situation with my EAD. The INS automated system tells me that my EAD has been approved and that it was sent out on Aug 3rd. On Aug 5th I was transferred from Florida to Arizona working for the same company. The EAD was sent out before I had the chance to file for a change of address. I check with my x-roommates back in Florida but they tell me that there is no mail from the INS for me. From talking with my lawyer, he says he's not sure if the INS will be able to issue me another EAD if this one is lost. He even says that I might have to apply for a new Labor Certification(I sure hope not). Has anyone been in the same situation before or know of anyone who has been in one? Please share some thoughts. Thanks

This may help

First thing first, you will not have to apply for new Labor certification. If the lawyer is telling yiu that, the first thing that you need to do is fire him.

Second, Did you file the change of address with the postal services? If yes:

This is the best case for you. Your EAD will not have been delivered and not forwarded to new address. It will be returned back to INS. After allowing for sufficient time (3-4 weeks), you should call the service center and have them resent to your new address.

If you didnt file the change of address:
Then I dont know what might have happened with your EAD. technically it would have been delivered to your old address, even if you were not there. Probably your friends at old address misplaced it. Or the EAD has been lost by Postal services, which is highly unlikely. I have rarely seen anything beong lost in the mail, atleast that is my experience.

Hope this helps..
