EAD job change question

When you change jobs on ead, and if INS asks for job letter, is that job letter from your previous company (Who filed your 485), or the new company (that you are working for now).

I though u must be champion on this fourm so was surprised to see such question from u. If u use EAD and chage the job using AC21 then u in event of rfe u have to submit the letter from present employer where you are working which should mention ur job profile salary . Why, Toying with the idea of Job change?

I think

INS will ask for EVL only as an RFE or at the time of interview. So if you have changed jobs then its better if the new employer gives a letter stating that you will be employed if a green card is issued for you.

If the new employment is not similar to the one ( for example flipping burgers as opposed to computer programing) in LC then you may try to get the letter from the old employer.

You are currently working for the new company and INS is aware of it and you produce a EVL from your old employer then INS may ask you to get it from the new one...this is my guess (based on the fact that if INS approves your GC in a couple of weeks, then will you quit the new company and work for the old one? )

Thanks guys. Ghost, I knew this, but just wanted to verify. No I am not trying to change jobs, but y'know doesn't hurt to know one's options.

Nell, Shaadi is gonna be after GC with an ABCD girl. Thats final. Right now concentrate on career.

So the consensus is, job change = letter from new employer. Gotcha. Thanks everyone.

SM,

If it is going to be ABCD girl, why worry about GC? :D Go ahead and get married, GC will follow automatically.

In bloody sillicon valley it is such a common phenomena to see girls coming here on husbands H1/Citizenship, it will be nice to see the tide swing the other way around! :)

So don't delay the shaadi, get married! :)

Well marriage will prove to be a welcome distraction from the mess of AOS. I am sure you wouldn't be concerned about INS and its follies for atleast a year. That should be about how long the honeymoon period lasts! :) And by then INS will have moved some hopefully! :)

AOS - Change job

I am surprised that you seem to take a pessimistic view on the option of changing job during AOS 180+ days. Isn't that what AC21 was all about.
With the current rate of approvals and the state of the economy, this changing job option may well be forced upon many adjustees.
I have seen a few postings on this issue, all seems to be positive. So I think we should explore this option further and create a thread to collect this kind of experience from those who have ventured this path.

Good luck all.

RFE and Change jobs

I have three colleagues at work who received RFEs. They have been in the same job for the last three years. From what I can deduce, there is no correlation between change jobs and getting RFE. RFEs seem to be issued on all cases that I have known.

Again, I don't know if anyone interested but is there a way for us to create a thread to collect experiences on changing jobs during AOS and how to deal with INS thereafter.

Glad you don't know my case.

Anyway, yea I think we should create such a thread.

Re: ABCD

Good to know that ;) So, you are free to change job.

I understand, ABCD means US Citizen. But, What's the real full form ?

Yeh that will be cool to get married to ABCD . i guess cause then u do't hv to go though the employment AOS u can always change job whichever field u want and INS will dare not issue rfe or chalange your employment status . And as said earlier your honey period will see you through AOS. only thing is if u need to go out of country u hv to apply for APs.

Ghost, plan is to get GC on my own. Plus, I am so close to it (yet so far). Anyway, lets not turn this into Silly Man marriage board.
