I am not sure whether this the correct place to start this thread but I was hoping that somebody with similar experience could advise on this situation.
My spouse applied for an EAD card (J-2) on May 24th, reciept date May 31st, Card sent Aug 1st. On Aug. 10th, website was updated with Card returned by PO as undeliverable.
We called and updated with our physical address on Aug 13th but was told to wait for 45 days.
Does anyone know how to speed up the process of resending the card? Has anybody have a similar situation and advise with something?
Thank you

45 days could be the worst case. It may arrive earlier.

I had to start a US job in a June but the EAD was to arrive in Augut. It arrived much earlier in the June, right on time.

Regards,

KiwiGC

Do you and your wife have same last name if not give it to your post man that will help in future to stop such a thing to happen.

Thank you kiwigc and raonj1
I made sure the postal man knows both of our names but I guess that was too late. They had already sent the card back.
I am just not sure, I have read on other forums that sometimes cards returned to them as undeliverable never get sent back to the applicant. I do hope they will send it soon!

If it has been more then 90 days then you can try your local office and see if they can issue you an EAD. Good luck

Hello
This is an issue that concerns my spouse's EAD.
He applied in May, recipt date May 31st, card sent on July 30th and returned to the USCIS by PO as undeliverable. We udpated the address with our physical address, it has been 30 days already and nothing, no card and no change on the online status... I know that they are not issuing any more Intermin EAD's and it has been more than 100 days since we applied and more than 30 days since we updated the address. What to do now????

EAD is returned as undeliverable by PO

HI
I have applied for EAD and it shows as card undelivered and returned by PO.
I have updated the USCIS about no change in address(As i did not change my address). It has been already 15 days since nothing happened.
The customer care never has any information more that this with them and gives a service request no to me and asked me to wait for 45 days.
Does anyone has similar experience and what were the steps taken to expedite it.

Pointer will be highly appreciated

Hello
As you can see, we are in the same boat.
We also called and was informed to wait for 45 days after we have given a case number. We changed our address to our physical address. (that is why they gave us a case number)
I do not want to disappoint you but we have been waiting for a long time and our 45 days period will end next thursday, if we do not get anything by then, we plan to schedule an info pass.
However, I heard from one person on trackitt.com that she had the same situation and they mailed the card to her after 2 weeks.
So Good luck to you.

Hi
I made to the DHS with an INFOPASS Appointment and the lady at the window told me to wait for another 90 days for the EAD card to be send. I could not beleive her answer to my woes. I do not know what to do next now.

It is unbelievable. I know exactly how you feel because we are in the exact same situation.
We have an info pass today in few hours and I am already worried.
All I can think of now is:
-COntact your congressman and ask for help. From my research, congressmen calls to the USCIS carries much weight.
-Try calling using the POJ trick, this will let you talk to an immigration officer directly rather than the national customer service.
If none of this worked within 3or 4 weeks, I would apply again.
We are in the same, I will update you with any news and please do so as well.
thanks

Hello
I just heard from my husband after the info pass, he said the guy he met was nice, told him that the system updated your address only on Sept. 14th (which was strange since we called on aug.13th to update the address) but he said he will put a request for them to send it and we should get it in 2 to 3 weeks.
We think if we didn't get it by then, we will contact our congressman and may be get another infopass.
I will update you with any news.
Good luck to you and hope you would get it soon too.

Have you got your resent EAD?

I am in the same situation as you. after I request for resent, it took them 30 days to put a note on my case saying the card had been resent. And told me to allow 60 days for the card to get to me. it is rediculous!

Keep us posted of your progress please.

Still no card for us.
So, did they actually send it and asked you to wait for 60 days?? or they didn't it?
It is very stressful!

I don't know if they has already sent it out. But the messege in their system said, on it was sent on Oct 1st. And it also said please allow 60 days to receive it. I feel that they are just buying themselves time. I don't know what they are doing, and it drives me crazy.

Just wondering if you have heard anything about your card yet.
In our case, it is almost 4 months now and we haven't got anything and 2 weeks from infopass, We do not call the 1-800 since we heard it is useless and I am not sure whether calling helps or no but we do not know what to do now!
Any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
THanks

I received a letter from USCIS yesterday. It basically summarized my case. When it was approved, when returned, when I called asking for resend, and when they are resending. And told me to wait 60 days. Nothing new.
The letter was received more than a month after I called for resend. And asking me to go on waiting.

I don't know what took them so long for just sending a mail out.

I received a letter from the DHS saying that they had found my card and to please allow them 60 days for the delivery.
I do not know why do they need now another 60 days to mail my card.
What were they doing till now when already 50 days have passed since my calling them the first time to resend the card.

At least you got a response from them, if they found your card then you should get soon. I completely understand as we are in the same boat.
In our case, it has been more than 70 days since we called and requested the card to be resend but nothing even after the infopass, No letters, no update since Aug 10th. Yesterday, we opened a service request with the USCIS and emailed our congressman. No news yet! I hope they did not loose our card!!
THank you for updating me with your status and I will do the same if I have any. WhereisEAD, have you gotten anything??

EAD card received

After we received the letter, we noticed a update of our case online, saying the card was sent to us. Four days after the update, we finally got our card today.

Don't worry, it seems that they still keep their deadline. No action much before the deadline though.

Good luck to you both, and you will get your card soon.

Thank you whereisEAD for your reply
We never got ours, and no update in the online status since Aug 10th (Card returned as undeliverable). Imagine, it has been almost 4 months since the card was returned to them, we updated the address on Aug 13th and we were told to wait 45 days, took an infopass on Oct. 1st and were told to wait for 3 weeks, we finally opened a service request about 10 days ago and were told to wait for 60 day.... Imagine 60 more days!!
We contacted our congressman few days ago who requested us to contact him after one week. No update on the online status at all.
Thank you for the update on your status.
We are really helpless!!
