EAD/i485 pending/Lost job

I'm on EAD. I 485 pending for one and a half years. Suspecting I'd lose my job pretty soon ( within a week or so).

My question is how long do I have to find another job? In other words how long can I be unemployed after I get laid-off?
Secondly what if I don't find one,? Can I still apply for renewal of EAD?

Check this out, it will give you some perspective. This guy lost his job before I-140 approval and still got his gc.

But how can I be unemployed once I lose my job? How many months? What if I can't find another job? Will I still be able to renew my EAD if I need to while I am unemployed?
