Ead/i-9

I recently took up a new job and used my EAD to do so. The employer jsut accepted the I-9 form with a copy of EAD. The HR didn't even seem to know what an EAD was.. What is an employer supposed to do with this I-9 - Are they supposed to file this with USCIS?? Does the USCIS care or would know when a person started using his/her EAD??

Employer suppose to keep I-9 in his internal documents and present one in case of audit or any other requests from officials, including USCIS.
Does the USCIS care or would know when a person started using his/her EAD??

YES It does, in case if your old original employer who filed green card revokes I-140 or when you get any RFE for I-485
