Ead Help- Urgent

my EAD is expiring on may 5, 2003. I had told my lawyer to file and she did not file.

I did filing on my own on Feb 10,

Receipt date is Feb 10, 2003.

The problem is my EAD is expiring on May 5 2003. I will be short by 5 days. Can i go to SFO and request them to stamp it. I need SFO/Oakland address. Please share ur experience and provide ur suggestions. thanks in advance.

On your 91st day after Feb 10th go to your local BCIS and you'll get an iEAD. Then see if it's backdated - probably it won't be, but I think I saw a post here saying that they backdate EADs. However, your employer might not be too happy with this gap even if it's only a day or two.
I don't have any ideas other than taking an unpaid leave of absence between May 6th and the day you get your iEAD (if not backdated).
 
I'don't think they back date iEAD. But I am not 100%sure. It might not hurt to try for iEAD before 90 days. All they can say is we cannot issue. But there is a slight chance that you might get lucky.
 
My attorney says that as long as you are employed with the same company you should not even renew the EAD. It's only necessary when you are changing employers.

Please confirm it from your attorney. Even otherwise since you have filed for renewal I would suggest you to go to the INS office anytime now for the iEAD. Since it's renewal they should not give you any problem. Good Luck.
