EAD && H1

Hi Guys

Some back-ground...
My wife was on H1 (got a SSN number) and working for last 3 years.

Then she got laid off and we went on a trip to India and she came back on H4. Now couple of months ago my EAD (&& her EAD) got approved through my green card process.

Now she has another job offer and I guess my question is that can she just start working or anything needs to be done? Like go to Social Security office etc...(I guess your SSN number stays the same right?)..

Anyone with inputs on this..

Yes - she can start working pursuant to her EAD.

But when she does that, she automatically loses H4 status -- so for traveling abroad, she would need an AP.

No need -- SSN is the same ...

Once you finally get the GC, both of you would get a new SSN card ( same SSN ), with the work restrictions removed.
