EAD fresh application ..resurrects COLD CASE ?

Not sure whether many people have seen this message which I
sent on Friday, it was buried inside one of the several congratulatory messages that I received. What do you all think ?

Now when I think back, I applied for my 3rd EAD on Jan. 28 2004, which was 5+ months after NSC got the response to my RFE, and
4+ months after my 2nd fp. From reading other posts in the VSC forum, it appeared that processing of a new EAD could trigger
some movement in the underlying I-485. Now I know that many
people have done this and have not been successful (maybe these cases were not cold cases).

Does it make sense for fellow waiters who have gone through at least 3 months of waiting after their second fp and RFE response received (which ever is later) , apply for a fresh EAD - whenever their EAD renewals come within the 6 month window ? (instead of applying for fresh EAD 2 months before the deadline ?). My old EAD expires in May 31 2004. I applied on Jan. 28, 2004. I got the EAD approval on March 10, and the I-485 approval on March 16 (CIS could have waited till May 31 to give me my EAD approval, however they decided to approve both at around the same time).

Does it make sense that a COLD Case can be resurrected by applying for a fresh EAD at the right time (I define a COLD CASE
as no response from CIS for at least 3 months after a 2nd fp or an
RFE response received whichever happens later) ?

in the lines of your definition for COLD case, i want to give the definition of my case as FROZEN case since the RFE response was received 11 months ago and the 2nd fp was given 6 months ago and now same RFE is re-issued. Please validate my definition and correct it with your strong word if you will.

I really feel bad about your situation. I hope that the current RFE
and your response would help adjudicate your case faster. I was
trying to discern some pattern in my case and in the cases of some fellow applicants, and whether there could be an EAD link
to it.

It's been 7 months since my RFE and 8 months since my second FP. I applied for 3rd EAD in October and successfully got it approved in November. Application for the 3rd AP is pending. Sorry, don't believe in such "resurrection"...
 
Starbucks! When was your name check cleared ? As far I remeber your Approval soon after you name check so could be your 485 was pending coz of name check.

I left the details of my a#, DOB, etc. to the FBI contact number on
March 12 for a name check and haven't heard from them since.

Your observation may be true, guys are reporting that they recieved 2nd FP notice immediately or along with EAD renewal. My case is half way inbetween, I cannot apply for EAD renewal..., should wait and see.
