EAD for my wife

All,

Time has come to renew the EAD for me and my wife. My company is only paying for my renewal. My wife is a student.

Does my wife need an EAD is she's only a student?

Does she need an EAD if she's traveling on AP?

I just don't want to waste the money if she's not going to work and if it's not needed.

EAD is only meant for working (tax paying)
