EAD for L2 Spouse

I am working on L1 and have applied for I-140/I-485 in Jan05. I want to apply EAD for my wife based on L2 visa. As i was told that if we apply EAD based on I-140/I-485, she will loose here L2 status after she start working. However if she gets EAD based on L2 and start working, she won't loose her L2 status. Has someone having similar experience or can guide me, if that could create any other problem for us.

my situation is very similar to yours. my wife had applied for EAD based on L2, some days after that the company i work for applied for I-140 and i applied for I-1485/I-131/I-765 for both of us.
30 days after we filed the process both of us received the EAD based on the pending I485 (c9), but we also received a letter of deny on her EAD based on L2 saying that she had received an EAD based on adjustment pending.
a friend of mine had the same situation, the difference is that his wife had already started working when he filled the I-485 petition and she didn't lose the EAD based on L2.
i really don't know if this makes any difference, i spoke to attorney and was informed that it doesn't make any difference and it would not create any problems.
