EAD filing twice

Ok , this is an unusual one so need some advice. We ( my husband and I) efiled the EADs and there was a section to fill out where our 485 was pending. We put the local office name and as a result even though our application was employment based was sent to MSC ( National Benefits center). Now the more we read the memos, posts and documentation on USCIS website / internet , we feel the case should have gone to VSC where our 485 was initially filed before the transfer. We are thoroughly confused and a friend of ours recommended to paper file a second EAD application to VSC. Other than monetary loss, its not a problem but we are confused about couple of things:
1 . Will this cause some complications with 2 EAD renewal apps pending at 2 diff offices?
2. Should we mention we have a case filed at MSC in our cover letter?

Any similar scenario / suggestion is appreciated as we didnt get an answer from our lawyer for this.

Thanks
Sugandha

I would think that USCIS will let you if there is a problem with where you filed the application. The chances are that it will be processed just as easily at MSC. Have you got your receipt yet? If they did not send an RFE or other letter at that time then I would say you have nothing to worry about.

How long ago did you file your case? Did you get a receipt notice or a biometrics appointment letter? Another option would be to call customer service and find out if your case will be processed by MSC? if not, will MSC transfer it to VSC automatically and how long the transfer process take? Goodluck and keep us posted.
