EAD expires

I have a huge problem. My EAD expires tomorrow and I did not receive the new one. It is my third EAD, since I applied for GC through marriage with a USC in July 2006. I applied to renew the EAD in July, I already had my FP done in August but there is no update in my online account. Last year I got the new EAD in a month. My question is what happens if I continuu working? Or should I take couple of weeks off? I can not really do that, but if I have to I will. Should I call USCIS and ask them?
Thank you for your opinion.
You've been very helpful to me during the whole process.

in my experience, nothing can be done. I had stolen EAD card from my mailbox on a different ocasion, nothing help calling or scheduling infopass, they work on a READ basis - they will tell you something but it is hard to WRITE something down to them and request everything. If you have any clerk, office etc job 99% they wont even ask for your new EAD card as most offices dont even know how this works all they think is like when they are hiring you if you can work legally - if yes they took your stuff make a copy and put it in a chart - goodbye go to work.
But obiously some large corporations take care of that stuf more seriously.
Some smaller company you may explain situation if asked and just say that it did not get there yet - they should unserstand. Dont make them call USCIS as they will always say: you need EAD card --- thats the way they make their extra $320/yr.
obiosuly if you work on some high-immigrants density place like I dont know you cut a grass and most people doing that lets say are immigrants, those companies may want to follow up immediately and even let you go b/c they are controlled more often.
good luck - and dont worry too much, I have stayd in work without EAD (different jobs) nobody really cares too much

Thank you for replies. I called USCIS on Friday and they said it is not a problem if the company accepts it. I work in the same place since I got the first EAD and nobody asked me last year for the second one. So, I did not say anything to them and I will wait for the card to get here.
My problem was in case of a second interview if they will realize it was a gap between the old EAD and the new one. And I was thinking what if that will be an issue. But I guess it's nothing I can do, but wait and see.
Thanks again.
