EAD expired before get renew EAD

Hi guy,

My EAD got expired before my renew case approved due to the obvious huge delay for the EAD renew in INS. Does anybody know what I should do? My employer is quite restrict on this and they plan to hold my payroll. Please give me any advice on what I should do to pass this UGLY situation.
