EAD expiration end of month!!

Hi folks,

Need some help!!. My EAD application was filed late on Aug 4th 2006, due to some unavoidable circumstances. The biometrics were done in first week of September. It is still pending as of today and my current EAD will expire 10/31/06. I am really concerned about my options here.

I am eligible for an interim EAD after 90 days on 11/04 ( 4 days later after expiration). Can anyone please advise on how to proceed here?. I took an infopass appointment last week of October at chicago local office. Do you think they will issue an interim EAD, even if it has not been 90 days but close?

Can i continue to work?

I had similar situation as you. my suggestion is call the service center where you filed your EAD, and tell them your old EAD card is about to expire, they will ask you to Fax an expedite request, then you will get your EAD card within 2-3 week.

BTW the current processing dates indicated that the chicago office is working on cases dated June 26, 2006. How accurate is this processing time information?

I don't know. One of my friend just did the same thing as I suggested in the last post, she got her EAD card within 2 week, but the processing date for VSC is early than her receipt notice date. You need Fax an expedite request because the processing date is early than your application date.
 
I called up USCIS chicago, looked up website. They dont have a fax number!!. The only option i had was to take an infopass appointment on Oct 20th. Meanwhile i will fedex the request to them. Any other ideas, please let me know.
