EAD : Electronic filing

My employer has filed for my EAD ( new ) and my wife's EAD ( renew ) electronically.
1. I was wondering if it's a good idea to file electronically.
Also, I've an appointment to Atlanta ASC in Nov for fingerprinting for EAD.
2. Is it okay to try for an earlier date by just randomly going there. If anyone done this please share your thoughts.
3. How long does it take usually after fingerprinting for EAD approval.

one good reason for efiling EAD is you don't have to spend money on taking pictures. You can just go to the application center for finger print and picture. that's it.

Whether they will allow you to do it earlier you have to press your luck, it's kind of YMMV.

Check your service center for processing EAD, usually around 3 months.
