EAD during the status change from L1 to L2

Hi, My wife is in L1A and I have applied for a Visa status from L1 to L2. During this period (before my L2 Visa is approved) I heard that I can apply for EAD. Can anybody share the info on this, if I really can apply for EAD? If yes, how shall I go about this? Can I speak with an attorney to help me in this? Can you share the contact details of any attorney?

Any information will be highly appreciated.
