EAD & Drivers License in NJ

Hello all:

I just applied for EAD renewal (expires mid-June 04) by mail, about 5 months in advance. Current driving license will also need to be renewed at the end of current EAD validity - a must-have document for DMV NJ to issue/renew drivers license.

Question 1: If an RFE is issued for EAD Renewal, for whichever reason (let say on day 89 from the application receipt date), I understand I can not get an interim EAD at the end of the 90-day period, because of the RFE. Is this correct?

Question 2: Parallel to this, does the 90 day cycle re-start upon RFE response receipt date by Immigration?

Question 3: Would the DMV accept EAD Renewal Application Receipt or the RFE request/receipt notices as a valid document (they had accepted I-485 receipt to issue the DL)

Question 4: What else can I do/present as valid documentation for my authorized status in the US?

Firstly RFE for EAD is rare. So you should be fine. You have five more months so enough time to get these resolved. I think we are used to having a level of certainty about basic issues and here until you get GC you can ask such questions to every aspect of our life and nothing is certain. I am not sure if Immigration guys and DMV would make anything easier for us. Just hope for the best.
