EAD delayed due to security clearance - can i get iEAD?

Folks,
My subject pretty much sums up my question - my EAD was filed on May 3, 2005, and it has been delayed due to 'security clearnace' - that is what USCIS told in response to my expedite fax.

Can I still get an iEAD once 90 days have passed since my notice date? Can you pls post your experience.

Yes. set an appointment at the district office for iEAD. What fax # did you use for the expedite request?

Yesterday I got my interim EAD from the local USCIS office in New York.

Which country are u from ?
Do u work for cybersoftec?

I am from Pakistan, and for interimEAD they took 5 hours to complete my background check, but finally it was done! I think my original EAD application is still stuck on the background check queue.

I had originally asked vermont center if the local USCIS office would issue me the interim EAD. Their reply was that it depends on the local office. However, it also seems that your EAD is 'on hold' ... it sounds different than 'pending due to security clearance'. But if you have not already tried it, you may try some other local USCIS office.
