EAD Card - no finger print

hi,
When my attorney filed for EAD, he made me sign the EAD card in the signature box.
But, the box below that for finger print was kept blank, i.e. he asked me not to put my index finger print. When checked with colleagues of mine, most of them have put the finger print also.
Not sure whether that is okay or not. Could someone tell me whether it should be okay or not.

That\'s fine. I did the same. Got the EAD card with just signature and no finger print.
