EAD Card Interview??

Hello all,

I read a previous post in which someone said they were called for EAD Interview. What is EAD Interview?

I have filed at the Newark Office and its been over 90 days since Receipt Date. I have scheduled an appointment on Nov. 9. What kind of interview is this? I only have I-797C Notice of Action document and no EAD approval letter. Is that enough for the Interim EAD interview? I do not have any other supporting documents.

My lawyer recently told me that it takes about 4 months for EAD nowadays; however, the USCIS website says it take only 30-90 days. Also, my lawyer was not aware of any Interim EAD procedure.

Would appreciate any feedback/suggestions

Thanks
Mihir

Mihir,

If your case is married base, it's pretty stright forward. You don't need any laywer. They are sitting to swallow your money, unless otherwise you have any problem. I was wondering how come your lawyer wasn't aware of interim EAD!! To get interim EAD , go to your local office and take all of your receipt letter inlcuding I-130, I-485, I-765, your passport. They will take not more than 30 mins to give you the card. No interview, they will count the 90 days only and verify it. That's it. Again if you talk about BCIS there is no hard and fast rule, GOD AND BCIS OFFICER KNOW THE BEST ;o)

Hope for the best.

Good luck.

Dip

You would better find another lawyer if you insist on lawyer's help and dont deal with an amatheur. It's a shame he's not aware of basic procedures.
Anybody in this forum can answer these questions (especially guys who already went through this.
And you really dont need a lawyer as Dip92 says if your case is the family-based one. That's just waste of money on an ignorant lawyer.
