Applied 08 March 2007 (paper file, VSC), received card today April 16th. Card is post dated to 05/01- the day my current EAD expires !!! This was my 3rd renewal. The previous renewals were all not post-dated causing me to lose 1 month or over. Now this is good that USCIS is post-dating to the actual date of expiry on the current unexpired EAD.
As always sent in color copies of lic., previous EAD and previous EAD mailer along with the application for faster processing (and used the templates in the sticky here at the top of the topic) and it has been real fast: I got the e-mail last week that it is approved.
My pending 485 was transferred to NSC from VSC the day before they received my EAD renewal. Still they processed the EAD renewal at VSC and have approved it. (So I guess you can still apply for EAD to the place where the 485 was filed and not the place it was transferred to)
