EAD Card & I-485 Question

Hello,

My I-765 application (pending I-485) category was received on June 29th 2007. As per USCIS processing timelines, it takes 11 weeks to process I-765. However, it is 12 -13 weeks and I have not received my EAD card or notice of approval.

I already called USCIS customer service and have been told to be patient. I am getting really nervous about this. Is there anybody in the similar situation? Anybody has any advice on how should I go about this?

To make matters worse, I have been offered new job and may have to move TX within 25 days? I would really to have my EAD card in hand before I move.

Also, Would transferring the files to TX impact the processing times of my I-485? I have read in this forum, that chaning DO offices results in at least 6 months delay and also one has 2 nd interview. Please advice.

EAD-Awaiter,

Don't be patient bus-boy, make an info pass and complain to the Immigration Officers. The last thing you want is to wait till next year's election to receive your EAD. Also, after all these fee increases, what the hell are they doing with the money instead of hiring more mean people to process these benefits?

Customer service guys are the worst people to follow their advise on anything, because they hardly know a thing, except to answer the phone and spew their prepared nonsense. I have experience their incompetence on numerous occassion...:(

My EAD expires in January 2008.

I have already got an infopass appointment and will be talking to them. The problem is its not until early next month and I have to say "yes" or "no" to the job offer.

I want to have the EAD in my hand before I say yes and move to TX. I don't want to be caught in the Address Change mess, so close to my EAD card being approved and mailed to me.

Also, does anybody know the potential delay to I-485 processing due to moving to another state / town?

Not sure about what the issues are with changing DO's, but with respect to you EAD - what's the problem with saying yes to a job with your current EAD, since it doesn't expire until Jan 2008.

Whether you change jobs or not, you will simply need your new EAD by Jan 2008 sometime, so if it's a job/move that you want to do, why not do it? (with respect to the EAD issue).

Becuase if I move the DO will change from Charlotte to Houston. Since we are moving, we will have to submit AR-11 form, which may create more problems in terms of EAD being sent (depending on how soon the address gets changed). Besides, I dont even have the new address as we will have to look for temporary apt. to live in.

I don't want another variable to be added to this already lenghty and furstrating AOS processing.

Anybody with Charlotte DO who has applied for I-765 in June / July 2007 timefram and has received EAD card.
