EAD card has incorrect expiration date?!?

Card was approved June 6th. The expiration date on the card being Jan 5th. How do we rectify this mistake? Any such experiences?
 
EAD (I-765) e-file process does seem to have an option to apply for "Replacement EAD". But why would I have to pay another $175 for a mistake commited by USCIS... Please reply... what are my options?
