EAD card approved - but not received - ok to take work?

hi,
BCIS says my EAD renewal is approved & card has been ordered & mailed...but I havent rcvd card or approval notice yet...Hence, was wondering -
1. if its OK to accept employment without having received card or approval notice
2. How long does it take to receive approval notice & new card after approval of late?

my EAD was WAC-03-090-XXXXXX...anyone approved lately who has also received card already? how long did it take for u?

Yes. it is ok to work as long as it's been approved, coz the approval date will always be earlier than your work start date.

If you want to take up a new job, they would want to verify employment eligibility (form I-9) and most probably would not let you start work if you do not show them the physical card. If you are continuing work with the same employer, you may not have any problems.

My 2nd EAD was approved on 05/13/2003 and I received the card on 05/24/2003. But I had iEAD valid till 12/2003 and I got iEAD 2 days before 1st EAD expired.
