EAD card after grace period???

Hi,

I am on F1 visa - just finished my Master's. My report of completion (ROC) is yet to be filed. I guess once the ROC is filed i have 60 days to remain in US.

I have filed for OPT though not received the EAD card but only received the receipt from USCIS>

My question is - once the 60days grace period is over after completing the degree - and I still don't receive the EAD card , am I eligible to stay in the US until the card arrives?????

I'm a bit worried about this so please anybody who can answer this question reply to this post :(
 
If you have filed an OPT, your I-20 should have been updated to reflect the new end date (the end date is one year after the beginning date of the OPT). You may want to check with your designated school official in regards to this.
Also if 90 have passed since you receipt date you may want to try to get a temporary EAD through your local office (not a guarantee but worth a try, especially if you know a company that is willing to hire you)
