yes, it should take about a week to get it (give or take a couple of days, due to holidays / weekends / etc).

i applied for it about 2 months ago. I mailed the paper-based application. This is my third EAD even though I have never used it. Wasted (donated) a lot of $$$ to USCIS.
The reason I am concerning the timing is that I will move to a new location next weekend. it is very risky!

got card 8 days after approval

Wife's EAD was approved on July 9th - we received the card on July 17th. So, you should get yours around July 22nd, I would guess...
