EAD at Norkfolk office

Does anybody have experience of applying the 1st EAD at Norfolk local office? Both my lawyer and the INS customer service voice machine told me that I could send my application to Norfolk sub-office instead of VSC which is processing my 485. I sent it a week ago, and noticed that my check still has not be cleared. How long does it take to get the receipt notice? and how long does it to get it approved?
