I had posted earlier that I had got two receipts with both having my wife's names on it but different LINs(same A#). Let's hope INS got the names correct and it was just a mistake issuing the receipts.

I-140/I-485/EAD concurrent EB3/RIR

EAD AD-1/14/04
 
In spite of the I140 backlog in NSC, looks like the processing time for EAD is not affected by the H1 premium cases.
 
I think that is bcos they just carry out a cursory scrutiny of the I-140 and as others have put in the forum earlier, as long as it is approvable they approve EAD.
That may not guanrantee that it will stay approved as there are chances that I-140 or even I-485 may get denied and that would deny all EADs issued as well.
One of the few leeways provided by the otherwise screwed up immigration policy to enable you and your spouse to be visa independent for working here.

When do they usually update the message on the web. Do they do it thru the day or at the end of then day? I applied for EAD at NSC on 12/02/2003...still waiting......
 
I don't think there is a pattern to it. Perhaps, they do it as and when they work on the cases and come to a decision.
 
I feel they update the message at night. For several times, I checked my status in the early morning and found it changed.
