EAD approved but card not generated?

On the 91 st day (Oct 25, 05) after filing my I-765 withe the National Benefits Center (NBC), I went to the Dallas office to request an interim EAD. To my surprise, I was told that an interim EAD could not be issued since my I-765 was approved on Sep 27 by the NBC. I was told to call the NCSC and wait until the EAD gets generated and mailed. I also have an I-485 pending with the NBC.


Can anyone please tell me what may have happened here? I have a job offer and I am desperate to start working. What can I do to get an answer and my EAD? :mad:

I have similar situation. Yesterday I went to local office to get my intrim EAD card and after waiting 6 hours they told me that my EAD was approved on 3rd October and they cannot issue intrim EAD becuase its already approved. they want me to call NCSC. Officer told me that he will emailed NBC to request issuing my EAD card. I don't know wht this ppl doing. I think yours and mine EAD approved just week apart. Please post your reply here if u received ur EAD Card. I will do the same if i received it. I am currently employed and my current EAD expiring next month.. so i need to have my Card before end of this month..:(
 
Got IEAD

Got an interim EAD yesterday, thank God.
Went back to local office early morning. My US wife accompanied me. Showed employment offer that stated that offer was going to be withdrawn if not accepted by Nov 4. Officer told me to call NCSC. Asked to speak to supervisor. Officer came back and emailed processing office (PO). Officer asked me to wait until PO replied. Afternoon: officer called PO. Told card approved on Sep 27 but the officer that approved it failed to enter approval date in EAD card generation system. That error was rectified yesterday and regular EAD is expected within 45 days. In the meantime Officer issued an 8-month IEAD on the spot.

I accepted the job offer yesterday.

Conclusion from all this: Be polite but determined.
