I just spoke with an IIO a few minutes ago.
My story is that I applied for I-485, AP, and EAD at the same time. I never received receipts for anything, but received an FP notice and the AP itself. I did my FP on 3/3 and the FBI confirmed that they processed them and sent them back to the INS on 3/4.
I called the IIO to check on the status of my EAD and FP entry into the system:
EAD: Since I didn\'t have the receipt, he looked it up by my last name. He said that it was approved yesterday (3/14) and the request was sent out to the printer. I should be getting it soon according to him.
FP Status: At first he said that the FP Notice hasn\'t been sent out, but when I told him that I already received an FP Notice and did my fingerprints already and verified that they were processed by the FBI, he said that they\'re not in the system. At this point, I started to worry since the answer sounds made up. After pressing him for a little bit (not too hard), he said that they are very backed up and that everything is behind, even their inter-agency mail. He said "don\'t be surprised if this case takes more than a year!" He further said that the status of my application is the same before sending out the FP notice and until they update the system with the fingerprints.
I\'m not sure how real this IIO is, but it sure got me concerned that it\'s going to take up to a year to process the application. On the other hand, he was surprised that I already got my FP Notice so who knows.
