EAD approval

My RD is april 30 and ND is May 4. I am expecting EAD for my spouse. Has anyone got their EAD with their RD and ND close to mine ? How long does it usually take at Vermont ? Is it true that I can get the EAD in hand if I go to the local INS center ?

I have heard about getting EAD\'s from local offices by producing the receipt documents; have no personal experience, though.

Yes. You can walk in and get it in Boston INS district office...........

I am not sure about other places..................
