Hello all,

My EAD application got approved on the 90th day !! (Oct. 28th' 04)

The online case status message says that "...we(USCIS) have ordered you a new card and we will mail it to you as soon as it is ready".

How long does it normally take for them to mail the EAD card? I called the National Service Center and they said you have to allow us at least a month.

Also, is it possible to get an Interim EAD now that my case has been approved? I have already scheduled an InfoPass appointment for EAD for Nov. 9th. I need the EAD card so that I can start working...my employer expects me to start on Nov. 8 and I need to show proof of work authorization in the first 3 days.

I would appreciate your suggestions/advice.

You will get another email within 3 days that your case has been approved and we mailed your card . So don't worry, be happy. You will get your EAD in hand by 7 to 10 days.

I also think that you dont have to worry.
I got the same message like yours on 19thOct.
On 22nd Oct got an e-mail that they mailed a notice. And on 25th Oct I got the letter with the actual EAD card enclosed.
The card was issued with date 19th Oct, which was actually the day I got the INS first e-mail for approval. Now it all depends on the postal services.
You should receive the card valid form 28th Oct (when you got the first e-mail). I started working on 23 Oct before I actually got the card in my hands-and it was still legal, cos when I got it was valid for the period 19 Oct/2004- 18 Oct 2005.
Dont worry, it wont take even a week from now on to get it.
