EAD approval date

how long does it take to have your ead approved? i did my biometrics on march 30, 2006 and i haven't recieved anything yet. i checked online for the status of the case and it had only been updated on April 7th. It is now June 7, 2006 and I'm getting kind of worried. is anybody the same situation as i am? My DO is NYC. by the way this is my first EAD. thanks in advance.

I hope you know that if you haven't received your EAD by the 90th day after your receipt date, you can set up an infopass appointment and get an iEAD as long as your case wasn't approved yet. If it is approved, you should see the status change online and get the EAD within a week. Normally EAD at NBC seems to take approximately 60 days, but nothing is written on stone with USCIS.

When was your ND for your EAD? Did you receive an RFE (that could delay the processing a little)?
As Sgsnathan says, after 91 days from your ND you are eligible to receive an iEAD at your DO. If you had an RFE, you could still try to get an iEAD, but most likely you will have to wait longer then (90 days after they received your RFE response).
