Did the process of taking EAD appointments changed? When I applied online like 2 months back, I could call the 1800 number and take the appointment for the local INS center for fingerprints and photo. Though it was mentioned in the process that they would be sending us a letter with the time and date for the fingerprints. But now, when I'm applying it for my wife, they are mentioning that they don't give any appointments on the phone any more and the process has changed. And we'll have to wait for 6 weeks to get the letter and then go for the appointment. They also mentioned that we'll have to apply atleast 6 months before expiring.
Could anyone please confirm this or do I need to keep calling to get to the right person?
