EAD/AP renewals - simplified way

Why do we have to apply for EAD/AP renewals every year, they have everything with them from the first application, can't they just send us the renewal cards automatically just like the Car registration etc. They know that we would need the EAD until the 485 is approved, they should automatically send it and bill us. Why go thought the painful process of filling up the same information year after year for the same stuff. I find it ridiculous to send the same supporting again for the renewals when they already have it with them with the initial application.

If they can automate it this way, that would be customer service in the true sense. They call themselves Service Center right. Any thoughts?

That is not true. There is lot of information that could have changed like your address, status, I94 number, etc. etc. Plus not everyone spends money on EAD and AP if they don't have to. The way you are suggesting, everyone will be billed automatically, even if they don't want EAD/AP. EAD/AP are at applicants discretion and not mandatory at all.

And they are Customer Maar Service Centers. :D

If they do what you say joyd - who will kill the flies in that neighbourhood where they sit(flies are cause they sit there).

joyd good idea

good points brought up sertra2002 but same things happen to vehicle registration too...u sell it ...u change address etc...and if u decide to sell vehicle after they send u renewal notice u will not renew ...same applies in immigration ....

I am talking about renewals here, if somebody applies for EAD/AP the first time, chances are they will apply for renewals again. Let them send the renewal EAD/AP automatically and we can send them the updated I-94 etc. They always should have the latest address as we have to update them with the address change within a specific amount of time right(was it 30 days?). This whole thing could be an automated process with minimum human interaction. Even if we leave AP out of the picture, they can do it for EADs at the very least. That way we cut out lawyer fees every time we renew, and all the associated headache.

Or it could be a temporary card they send which we need to get it validated by going to a local service center.

I am totally against this process of reapplying for something which I should have in the first place.

I have a question..

When is USCIS planning to make the validity period of
EAD and AP for 5 years ?

My EAD/Ap expires in dec 04.Any Ideas how long the process takes
and when do i need to file for renewal ?

I heard that there are some changes in USCIS after June 30th regarding
EAD and AP.

should i wait for a couple of weeks or file it online immediatly ?

Thanks

That's exactly my point. To be safe you have to apply 6 months in advance. By the time you relax and take some breath, you have to do it all over again. Also, the AP that you get will not be renewed, since it is a fresh application, so it will be issued for an year from the date they approve, so you are loosing a few months here. I believe EAD's get renewed for a year from the last expiry date though.

Actually giving EAD's and AP's for extended duration is a much more feasable and practicle solution. And looks like it may be implemented soon. So joyd, no need for annual Ead/AP's at all...hows that :) !

BTW, your solution does look like its coming from a programmers mind...automate the process ;)!

I am asking them to automate the process so they use the computers more and do less work ;)

EAD validity

Guyz,

BTW: Did anyone receive EAD which has validity more than a year?

I agree with Automatic renewals for EAD, just like Driver License except we have to send fresh mug shot photos.

Thanks

Maybe I should patent this idea before VSC starts using it, at least I will get continuous stream of revenue from VSC instead of being other way around. :D
