EAD/AP Renewal!!

Hi All!!

I am going to India in December and returning in January. My EAD/AP expires in May. Do I have to renew both EAD/AP after I return from India only or I can do it b4 leaving itself? I heard it is taking long time for renewal at TSC. Any information is greatly appreciated.

I have valid H1 Petition but no stamp in my passport. Can I reenter with H1 or i have to use my AP? If I use my AP, will I lose my H1? Do I have to file I-9?

Do it After

When an AP application is in process you should be present here. So Keep all the documents ready and file it as soon as you come back. You can travel with your existing AP.

Thanks SaiMural for prompt and very useful information. Can you please tell me Should I revalidate my H1 stamp in India or reenter using AP? Can you share your experience if you know?

What should I do if I use AP? Can you suggest me the links for renewing EAD and AP? I appreciate your help greatly!!

I am in the same boat but...

my lawyer said the renewal can be filed either before or after my travel on the current AP.

My current AP will expire next April and I am planning to travel in Dec. too.

Will it really be a problem if the renewal is filed now (and be pending while I am travelling with the current AP)?
 
Not a problem

I had applied for my renewals of EAD/AP in Apr/May. I travelled to India in June and got back in July, using old AP.

My renewals were approved in July/August sometime (after I had returned back).

I had no problems at POE.

Hi Akaman,

I feel good now hearing that you applied for your renewal even before your travel and got it approved. I was wondering don't you need I-94 when you renew your AP? When you return, you will have a different I-94 than what you used for renewing your AP or EAD? Please clarify. Also, please tell me what all the documents you attached with your AP/EAD renewal as I am planning to apply on my own. I dont want to get any RFE.

Hi Gc_gz, Let us wait for someone to share their experience who are in similar situation like us. I am planning to renew as soon as I return since I still have 4 months before my EAD/AP expires. I keep my fingers crossed!!

Urgent Response Please!!

Hi Guys,

Please anyone confirm if it is OK to renew EAD/AP before traveling Out of the country? I am leaving in one week and i am in a fix whether to renew it now or wait until I come back!! Please Post!!
