EAD & AP pending for more than a year! HELP!

My husband and I filed Applications for Adjustment of Status on 3/25/2003. Each of us recieved our case receipts (I485, I765, I131) on 3/27/2003. After 3 months, I received my AP on 6/24/2003. Days later we recieved notices that the rest of the cases got transferred to Chicago office. Recently, on 2/11/2004 CIS asked for Request for Evidence on my EAD. Yeah, nearly after a year, CIS started processing my EAD! After my response to CIS request, my EAD has transferred to Missouri Service Center (even though we reside in Chicago area). However, as for husband's applications (EAD & AP), we haven't heard anything since the transfer notices. Our lawyer and National Customer Service Center haven't been helpful. Anybody out there has gone through this and/or can offer any expertise on this matter? Thanks in advance!

I think its better if you apply for another set of EAD and AP with the service center that is processing your I485 application.

I got both approved within 2 months so you better call BCIS or your attorney should do something ...take it serious dude...

I had a similar experience. My original EAD and AP were approved quickly, but my wife's AP seemed to fall off the face of the planet. Called the 1-800 number several times, but never received any information. Eventually, we decided to simply re-apply (still pending).

Would suggest you let this one go, and apply a second time.

Thanks, everybody! Will try talk to our attorney and the BCIS (again!!). I doubt they will provide any insights. Our attorney is way too busy and his paralegal doesn't even reply my email. Do you guys think it will be helpful if we have a walk-in @BCIS downtown Chicago? Thanks again ...

I am not sure if walk in might help, you could try though, in worst case they might ask you to contact the main service center.

If you have passed 90 days since you applied for EAD then you could walk in and get an interim EAD from the local service center. For this you need to carry your I797 receipts and the last EAD and other stuff.
