EAD/AP or H1 - Please advice

Folks,
I have a valid H1 stamped that expires Nov 02. I want to travel september 1st week and come back in 10 days.

From some messages in forum, I got an understanding that:

1) Use H1 to get in. Don't mention EAD/AP eventhough you have it.

2) If they ask more, show them AP and you can enter.

Now, if the AP is used, I would no longer be on H1, right ? And I immediately need to convey to my employer about my change to EAD.

I would really appreciate a clarification of this.

If your H1 is stamped and valid till Nov 02 you have nothing to worry about.

And like you correctly said Once you use AP then your H1 is no longer valid, so stick to H1.

I am not sure if you are aware that some major carriers are thinking of reducing their flights on Sep 11 and some carriers are even talking about the whole Sep 11 week.

With your travel dates, you are going to be right within that time frame, you may want to reconsider your dates
