Is it lawful for my wife's employer to fire her because she has not recieved her social security number yet? She has her employment authorization from the INS (EAD), but we are still waiting on her SS number. We did apply at the SSA about a month ago. Her employer told her that she has a month to get it or she will not be able to work anymore and they can fire her. I think this is bogus, anybody know? Thanks
