What are you thinking? EAD is a benefit of I-485 filing - no I-485 no EAD - period.

that`s what I was thinking. Just want to confirm.My priority date for EB-3 is 30 april 2001. I`m just two months away.Hoply will move fast.Thanx again

I wouldn't be so sure about this 1 month wait statement.
Read about the 245i amnesty. It was in April then.
300,000 applications and 2 years of wait as my lawyer said.
Just 1 month of April!

Gurus need advice

1- Can spouse apply for EAD if 140 is approved without 485 being filed?

2- Is consulate processing a better option given the scenario? If so, when can one ask for interview date (after 140 is approved)? what is the current wait time for interview in Mumbai?

Hej Anjey !
Better to be naive and hope for better. We will all find out next month once new visa bulletin will be issue.I feel bad for people from India with priority dates in 98 and all the other still waiting to hear from backlog centers. At least I`m close. How close ? see in the future.

You can not file for EAD without I-485 period !
