EAD and "own buisness"

Yes you can, but you still have to work for your sponsoring company. I did like this and I do my bussines parttime.
This is what my lawyer advice me.

EAD and no need to work for sponsor employer after 180 days.

You can open up your own business and can work full time after 180 days past filing I485. My wife started business using her EAD status. I was laidoff in Feb 2003 and decided to concentrate expanding business. Due to the fact my job title as a Marketing Director" remains the same and salary is salso the same so in case of getting RFE I will present my new paystub and letter explaining business entities. Regarding setting up new business you can incorporate your business depending the State you are living. You can save atleast $400 by registering on-line on State web site.Good luck

I am sure robi is correct. Before you get a GC, you cannot work in any company in which you or your immediate relatives own more than 5% of the company. Be careful. However, I am not a lawer, your attorney will be the best one to guide you. All the best.
