EAD and OPT (Cont.)

This is another follow-up on my previous email. As I mentioned, my wife is F1 and her OPT is pending. Suppose we also apply for her EAD through her 485. Would that imply an automatic rejection of her F1 status? If not, and if both her OPT and EAD come through, does that mean she is still on F1?

Once EAD is invoked, the prevailing temporary status will be cancelled.

..and by 'invoked' he means 'used'. Merely applying for it and receiving it and putting it in your drawer won't affect anything until you actually use it (i.e. become employed on the basis of it)...
