EAD and namecheck

Will the EAD card be issued only after the name-check is cleared? My husband is joining a school and he will need the EAD card for his internship.

A pending namecheck should have no effect on the issuance of EAD. In the past I have been told of some security checks that caused delays in the processing of my EAD and AP but I later found these to be delay tactics from TSC.

It really depends on the Service Center but lately the average has been about a month. However, you are always advised to apply 6 months before the expiration of your latest EAD. Its good to plan for delays.

Varies from time to time !!

Sometimes they approve EADs and APs together,but lately they give preference to EADs and its good for someone who is relying on that to work.

I got EAD/AP at the same time once and the last 2 times AP came after 3 weeks of EAD approval.

This is the 1st time I'll be applying for EAD since my PD will become current in June. Even in that case, you think it's 2-3 months?
