EAD and Medicine Residency

I hold an EAD. My case is still pending.

Would you think there would be any problem for a Medicine residency to hire me under this circumstances. I mean, cause my case is not granted yet, will they rather not select me cause they might be afraid if they do not grant me the asylum?

thanks in advance

If you have EAD there is not reason to say to your employer, that you are waiting for granting. Just show your documents and work.

thanks for the info

thanks for the info. I am anyway posting this message in the physicians forum for other opinions.

Appreciate it!

You are aware that a prospective employer is NOT allowed to ask you about the details of your immigration status. The only question they are allowed to ask you is 'are you able to work anywhere in the US' which you are based on an EAD. I know, residency programs violate this law on a regular basis, but don't go into details voluntarily. I believe you are even allowed to lie to employers on immigration questions as long as you don't present yourself as a citizen.

(During orientation you present your EAD to the HR person and you fill out your W9, end of story.)

EAD and ERAS application

Thanks for your help.

In the application for the Medicine-Residency application, there is a part that asks you if you have either Asylum OR EAD.............so If I mark EAD ( cause my asylum is not granted yet), they WILL ask me why did I put EAD and not asylum......is it that you do not have asylum?

What can I say here?
